Agaricus is a plant of fungus family. Though, there exists most of the species of Agaricus in nature, each are not edible. Most of the agaricus found im nature is toxic. Toxic agaricus may cause serious health hazard. A some species of agaricus is edible and high nitritious food in world.

There have some unique properties in agaricus which is rare in other consumable food item.

Agaricus contains a lot of selenium. Agaricus is called as selenium rich food.

Though, In many food either it vegetable or meat there exist at least a little amount of cholesterol. Only the food agaricus Bisporous contains no cholesterol. It is a cholesterol free food.
